"Stop Being Negative"
Since I started my journey as a volunteer in ocean conservation and participated in other projects during my travels in Central and South America, I was told a couple of times that I was being negative. I even received messages saying that I was exaggerating. My posts, my articles, my art are all based on facts that I witness. As a citizen of this planet, I feel that it is my duty to create awareness about facts that are destroying our home, our planet. I even gave a hand to have a healthier ocean. Since when creating awareness became negative?
There are individuals that specifically refuse to accept that us humans are contributing to the deterioration of our planet. They do not want to hear about it. They prefer hiding it under the carpet. I accept that everyone has different opinions and everyone has the right to express their own opinion without offending others. Creating awareness is not negative. We must know what is going on around us otherwise, when the bubble we are living in bursts, we will have nothing to cling to.
We live in an amazing beautiful planet with amazing beautify people. There is a lot of good going on in every corner of this globe, in each and every country, in each and every village, in each and every home. The environment is your environment. It is your children’s environment. It is my environment. Awareness is the initial step for a better well being in harmony with our planet.
Economic growth is not the only and ultimate objective. It is great that we all achieve financial independence and live a comfortable long life. This is the best ever moment to be alive. Us humans have achieved so much in healthcare, technology, agriculture, housing etc. It is very easy to go blind with all this progress and forget what really matters. Humans must continue to evolve but unlike what we’ve done in the past century, we must do so responsibly. We need to shift from EGO to ECO in what ever we do. Every individual.
We are all responsible of our well being, We are all responsible of the environment we live in. We need to keep our eyes open and observe and see how are we impacting our own families, our neighbours, our society. It is this planet that makes us human and it is our only home. Awareness of what is going on is not negative. It is a way to keep the heart of this planet pumping so we can continue living together in harmony with its abundance.
